Run for the Roses at the Summit Lions Club 2017 Kentucky Derby Party

The Summit Lions Club will host their third annual Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 6th, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Summit Elks Club Lodge, 40 Maple Street, in downtown Summit. Everyone is invited to attend this fun Kentucky Derby-themed event!

Please join us for a delicious sit-down dinner catered by LaPastaria with music and dancing throughout the night DJ’d by Summit SoundZ. The evening will also feature an expansive Silent Auction – with items priced for everyone – including shopping gift certificates, dinners, specialty gifts and more.  Henry’s Jewelry will also be on hand offering beautiful jewelry at fabulous prices — just in time for Mother’s Day!  And one of the event’s favorites, the Wine Pull ($20 a pull), will also be back featuring great reds and whites.  “It’s a wonderful way to help our community while watching the Kentucky derby and enjoying terrific food, good music, and great fellowship,” said Janet Russell, a Summit Lion.

Tickets for this fun event are only $25 and may be purchased now on the Lions website ( or at the door on the night of the event.

As the Lions’ primary fundraiser, this event provides critical support for the Lions’ important charitable programs such as eye exams for Summit children and residents in need, eyeglass recycling, high school scholarships, and many other community projects.  Last year the event raised more than $10,000 for local causes.

The Summit Lions would like to thank their patron sponsors, Bassett Associates, Haven Savings Bank, Investors Bank, MINI of Morristown, Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial; Re/Max Achievers – The Child Group, and the Summit Elks Club, for helping to make this event possible.
