Typhoon Haiyan Relief
FUNDRAISER FOR VICTIMS IN PHILIPPINES

Lions Clubs International (District 16-D) is hosting a fundraiser on December 8, 2013 on the one month anniversary of Typhoon Haiyan. This high-tea fundraiser will be held at Edison Hotel (3050 Woodbridge Ave, Edison) at 4:00 PM. It is a free event. Light refreshment will be served. Please forward this invitation to your family and friends.

After Typhoon Haiyan hit the situation in the Philippines is dire. Officials are estimating the death toll at more than 10,000 people. This is one of the worst disasters ever.

The magnitude of this storm is hard to imagine. It is the worst storm to make landfall in recorded history. To put it in perspective, the strength of Typhoon Haiyan was 3.5 times greater than Hurricane Katrina.

Lions Clubs International is known for it’s disaster response for last several decades. Lions helped victims of every single major disaster in the world including super-storm Sandy. Lions on the ground were already busy serving people affected by last month’s major earthquake in nearby Bohol. Lions are building a tent city to help the victims. Lions need your help to help the victims of this typhoon.

Lions will be raising funds for their giving arm “Lions Clubs International Foundation”. LCIF will be distributing desired help to the affected area. LCIF is a tax exempt 501(c )3 organization and 100% of the funds will be used to help the victims of Haiyan.

All participating individuals and organization will be duly recognized.
