The North Plainfield Lions Club will be holding its annual Chili Cook Off on Saturday June 12th. It is again being held at the North Plainfield Street Fair. Competition will be People’s Choice-style and no preparation need be done on-site.
The event will be a great way to spend the day and have the opportunity to sample the chili and vote for your favorite. As always, the atmosphere will be one of spirited, but fun competition with a backdrop of some terrific food. The culinary contest, along with the Street Fair, is fun for all ages.
Contestants will have the opportunity to prepare/bring their choice of chili; including red chili, chili verdi and vegetarian chili, etc, etc. There are trophies and cash prizes and booth decoration will also be judged! The Lions are looking for additional competitors, ranging from individuals to civic, scout and service groups and also police and fire departments. Those interested can obtain an entrance form and rules by contacting the chairman (Frank Stabile) at: 908-754-2754.
The proceeds from the Cook Off go to support the charitable endeavors of the North Plainfield Lions. These include scholarships and programs which are geared towards helping those with severe vision and hearing handicaps.
Come join the crowd for a fun-filled, fantastic afternoon and help the Lions help the blind!
