Sunday November 6, 2016 was the fall clean-up day at Camp Marcella. Lions from MD-16 descended upon the camp with rakes, tarps, and blowers to remove leaves from the camp property and place them into the woods in anticipation of winter and to make the spring clean-up that much easier. Many Lions Clubs and Camp Trustees demonstrated their raking skills and leaf blowing alibies to clear leaves from the camp walkways, roadways and grassy areas. For those individuals attending pancake breakfasts in Dumont and Hillside that morning, raking leaves was a great way to work off the calories and get some exercise in the sunshine and fresh air of Camp Marcella.
A lunch was served for all raking volunteers. Camp President, PDG Mika Pacala, thanked all Lions and guests who volunteered their time, for their effort in clearing the camp of leaves.
A special thanks goes to the Passaic County Community College Campus Club for attending and burying PCC Winster Ceballos in a pile of leaves, and to the Fairleigh Dickenson University Teaneck Campus Pre-Optometry Club for assisting the Lions at this event.
