The Howell Township Lions Pancake Breakfast
The Howell Township Lions Club held its Annual Pancake Breakfast on October 30, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church in Farmingdale, NJ. Honored guests were resident children who had participated in the Howell Lions “Arts & Crafts Contest” at “Howell Day” this past summer. An “Awards Presentation” at the breakfast recognized eight children, between 5-10 years of age, as winners of the 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes. Their artwork was framed, and given to each child as a memento. In addition, first prizewinners received movie gift cards; second prizewinners won gift baskets; and third prizewinners won a gift bag. The winners and their families were invited to enjoy the Pancake Breakfast. At the end of their meal, the children posed with the Howell “Lion” mascot in a photo-op session.
After the photo session, each child participated at the Book Fair being held at the event. Howell Lion, George Werner, who works for a book publishing company, donated about 200 books. The Pancake Breakfast netted $2,200.
