Eatontown Lions Raise $13,000 for charities

Eatontown – On Monday June 21st the Eatontown Lions club held their 12th Annual Phil Wellington Memorial Golf outing at Suneagles Golf Club Ft. Monmouth. 129 golfers attended. It was a spectacular day a little on the hot side but the alternative rain, could have suggested disaster to the fundraiser. “We are very pleased with the attendance. In this economy many people are scaling back playing in outings like these. I am happy to see such a good turnout. 6 months of planning has paid off. In January when myself and the rest of the committee start thinking about the outing before you know it its tee off time.” Explained Toby Stark chair of the Lions Golf Committee. Many thanks go out to the volunteers and committee members that made it such a success. Volunteers: Alan Trask, Jennifer Sarnelle and Kate Stevens. Lions members who assisted, Frank Cutler, Vito Ruffino, Joe Aretino, Joel Stark, Pete Thorpe, Tom Riccardi, John Xenakis, Toby Stark.

The Outing is setup to raise money for the Fisher House and The Capt. James M. Gurbisz foundation. They are pleased with the turnout and the success of the outing and are hopeful the same will occur next year.
